Suddenly, on June 1, 2023, William "Huck" Clark joined his Heavenly Father after succumbing to
injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Huck will be remembered as a lighthearted soul who
spread laughter and humor to all who knew him.
Huck was born in the "Swampoodle" section of Philadelphia, later moving to the Lawndale
section with his family. It was there that Huck cultivated lifelong friendships and was granted his
nickname. From annual "guys get-aways" in North Wildwood to sharing in the celebration of
life's milestones, these friendships followed him until the day he departed.
His greatest blessing was the love of his dear wife, Nancy (nee Furlong). For nearly 50 Years,
Nancy was a constant source of strength and steadfastness as they faced life's challenges
together from their home in Parkwood Manor. There they raised Chris and Matt and welcomed
three grandchildren.
Huck spent 30 years at the Budd Company, often working overtime so his family could enjoy the
finer things in life. Together with his wife, he enjoyed second homes in Arrowhead Lake in the
Poconos and West Wildwood. Here he shared his favorite pastime of fishing with his sons,
grandsons, nieces, and nephews. He had fond memories with his brother Jim and friends shark
fishing off the coast of the Jersey Shore – despite the big catch "always getting away."
Huck spent his life laughing and garnered a reputation for being a happy-go-lucky jokester. He
entertained his family and friends with his quick wit and infectious laugh. His home was
frequently filled with the laughter of his kids and their friends – they loved his antics! They will
fondly remember Huck as the funniest Dad in the neighborhood.
He had a passion for classic TV – the Beverly Hillbillies, The Andy Griffin Show, Green Acres or
Leave it to Beaver, he loved them all and could quote every episode! He spent hour enjoying
classic black & white movies – especially those focused on World War II.
Huck will be missed by many, but we hold tightly the pictures and memories that will stay with us forever.
Family and friends are invited to Huck's Life Celebration, Monday, June 12th, from 9:30-11:00am, at St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd., Phila., and to participate in his Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the MIP Foundation to help fight
childhood cancers. https://themipfoundation.org/donate in support of our cousin, Lily Walker
