Willard Herman Hogsed, 95, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Hospice in Gainesville. Herman was born November 20, 1928, in Murphy, NC to John and Bessie Hogsed.
Herman was preceded in death by wife, Marie Ledford Hogsed; wife, Corinne Beaver Hogsed; wife, Ruby Warren Hogsed; father, John Hogsed; mother, Bessie Hogsed; brothers, Garland Hogsed, Frank Hogsed, Marshall Hogsed, John Hogsed Jr., and Boyd Hogsed; and sisters, Laudis Nelson and Pauline Hayes.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Barker Hogsed; daughter, Sandra (Bill Carl) Hogsed; grandson, Jonathon Hogsed-Carl; and sister Eula Hopper; step-daughter Linda Beaver; step- grand-son John Charles Berry, and several other step-children survive.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Herman proudly served his country in both the Army and the Air Force. He was a Korean Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the Airforce Sergeant's Association, a member of the American Legion, the American Military Society, and the National Association for Uniformed Services.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Steven Knox, Zandy Knox, Matthew Hopper, Charles Hogsed, Collin Hogsed, and Billy Sadler.
Interment will follow at Union Memory Gardens in Blairsville, Georgia, with Military Honors presented by the U.S. Air Force Active Duty Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, February 10th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
