Willard Ramey Obituary

Willard was of the Christian faith. He was a coal miner and the owner and operator of Ramey Trucking Company for over forty years. He loved to chew tobacco and watch old westerns. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents Zennith and Stella Ramey, he is preceded in death by his wife Verna Ellen Lester Ramey, son Thomas Eugene Ramey, and brother Russell Ramey.
Survivors include daughter Candace "Candy" Ramey Coleman of Big Rock, VA; sisters Mary Elizabeth Norman of IN; brothers Bob Ramey and Phyllis of Abingdon, VA, Dennis Ramey and wife Carol of Grundy, VA.
He is also survived by grandchildren Dewayne Eugene Taylor, Todd Eugene Ramey, Brandon Thomas Stiltner; great grandchildren Brooklynn Stiltner, Kyleigh Cook, Zayn Taylor, Wrenley Stiltner, Zaydin Napier and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Willard Thomas Ramey will be held at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Grundy, VA, on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Pallbearers will be Thurlin Chafins, Brandon Stiltner, Todd Ramey, Dewayne Taylor, Anthony Lester and Aaron Lester.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday after 6:00 p.m.
