Ellen Lester Mullins, 87 years of age, of Paynesville, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her residence with her loving family at her side. Born May 11, 1938, in Paynesville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Susie Mullins Lester.

Ellen was the last surviving relative of her immediate family and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. She was baptized on November 29, 1967, and a member of the Bee Branch Church. She was married to her husband Ray on September 28th, 1957, with three children following. Ellen was homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and knitting. She enjoyed doing puzzles in her free time, loved going to church as much as her health would allow, and spending time with her family. She was a loving person and kind soul that would always greet you with a smile. Ellen will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents, Frank and Susie Lester, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Mullins, brothers Homer, Ernest, Vernor, and England Lester, sisters Sadie Mullins and Margie Justice.

Survivors include daughters Karen Blankenship and husband Burton of Paynesville, WV, Brenda Muncy and husband Ted of Watagua, TN; son Anthony Mullins and wife Sharon of Little Prater, VA.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Heather, Lisa, Chris, and Jordan; great grandchildren Meagan, Tyler, Krista, Carmen, and Mia; great-great grandchildren Kason, Logan, Paisley, and one unborn baby boy Maverick.

Funeral services for Ellen Mullins will be conducted Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bee Branch Old Regular Baptist Church, Slate Creek, VA. with Brothers Stanley Stacy, Gary Estep, Ivan Blankenship, Bill McCoy, Jackie Yates, and other brothers of the Old Regular Baptist faith officiating. Burial will follow in the Ambrose Mullins Cemetery, Paynesville, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday August 8th, and Saturday August 9th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with evening service starting at 7:00 p.m.
