William L. "Bill" Allen, 82, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at STAR Hospice House on the morning of Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Bill was born May 11, 1943, to the late Jay W. and Anna Prudence Murphy Allen. He is predeceased by three brothers, Jay W.Allen Jr., Richard E. Allen, and Michael J. Allen, and by one sister, Anna F. "Ann" Uber.
He is survived by his brother, Judge Larry (Lorraine Fende) Allen; his children, Paula Allen, Patrick Allen, Deanna Allen, and Kelly (Alan) Rupczyk; and his grandchildren, Cassandra (Kevin) Bancroft, Ashlie (Omar Yousuf) Feldt, Joshua (LeAnne) Allen, and Gabriella (Jhoan Cervera) Allen. He was "Grandpa the Great" to many - Tyler, Connor, Ella, Omar Jr., Hadley, Benjamin, Ayden, Milo, and Kamden. In addition, Bill will be missed by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
As the co-owner of Electric Motor Specialty Inc., Bill built up a lifetime of connections and friends, old and new. He was always happy to solve a problem or lend a hand where he could help. Bill and Craig operated their business for 35 years prior to retirement.
Bill enjoyed spending time boating on Chautauqua Lake for many years and was an avid guitar player. He was witty and had an infectious laugh.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 6 from 12 - 2 PM at Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown, NY. Friends and family are invited to attend a service with Reverend Paul Cygan as officiant at the funeral home immediately following the visitation hours at 2:00pm and to attend the entombment at Sunset Hill Cemetery at 2:45 PM.
