William Henry Allen Jr.

Cumberland, MD – William Henry Allen, Jr., 78, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at his home.
Born July 16, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, William was the son of the late William Henry Allen, Sr., and Marion Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Allen. He was also preceded in death by his son: William Henry Allen, III; his grandson: Steven Marcus Allen; his previous wife: Tammi Annette (Nimmons) Allen; and his sister: Brenda Thompson.
William graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1965, was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as Chief Petty Officer onboard the U.SS. Cunningham, and retired from Naval Reserves, as well as CSXT Railroad with over 30 years of service. He was also a member of the VVA Chapter #172, was a past Commander of the Fulton Myers American Legion, and a member of the American Legion Post #13.
William is survived by his wife: Margaret "Peggy" Allen; his children: Steven Marcus Allen, and Travis Jordan Allen; his step daughters: Autumn Snyder, and Elizabeth Curry; his step grandson who he helped raise: Lucas Walker; as well as several other step grandchildren and great-step grandchildren; his great grandson: Steven William Marcus Allen; his brother: Phillip Allen; and his half-brother: Brian Rhodes.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M., with Chaplain Paul Demers officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the VVA Chapter #172 Color Guard.
Interment will be in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
