William Arlt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 12, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William Roger Arlt, who left us on February 9, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on September 3, 1950, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Bill was a beloved son, devoted father, and loyal friend to many. He graduated from Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Class of 1969, and later spent 28 years embracing the sunshine and charm of St. Augustine, Florida.

Bill was proud of his 43-year career with Florida Power & Light, where he exemplified hard work, dedication, and integrity. He also honorably served six years in the Florida National Guard, a commitment he held with great pride. He served his community with the same devotion, volunteering with the Salvation Army and actively participating as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His generous spirit touched countless lives, and those who knew him will always remember his kindness and love for life.

Bill was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved the outdoors and embraced nature. He found joy in riding in the wind, camping, canoeing, surfing, and spending time at the beach. He cherished traveling and creating precious memories with family and friends, always guided by his adventurous spirit.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Dawn Lebrun (John Lebrun) of Jensen Beach and Jamie Zavala (Jose Zavala) of Port St. Lucie; his cherished grandchildren, Kevin Scalise (Abbie Scalise), Jordan Scalise, and Logan Zavala; and his great-granddaughter, Saylor Scalise.

He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Mowry (Michael Mowry) and Debra Arlt. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Dale Mowry (Whitney Mowry) and their children Adisynn and Harper Mowry; Holly Collazo (Nick Collazo) and their children Mackenzie, Sophie, Leyton, and Katelynne Collazo; and Krista Peters and her children Landon Feliciani, Liam Strynkowski, and Lidia Strynkowski. He will also be dearly missed by the many friends who forever hold him close in their hearts.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Meriam Arlt.

He is fondly remembered for his heartfelt relationships, including with his former spouse, Theresa Arlt, and her children: Daniel Poole (Jennifer Poole) and Danielle Poole (Mikey Green). He also leaves behind her grandchildren Alexandria Poole, J Poole, Christian Poole, Sebastian Green, and Madison Green; great-grandchild Kai Poole; and great-great-grandchild Enzo Vega.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army, Shriners Hospital, American Heart Association, or the Fraternal Order of Eagles in his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 385 State Road 207, St. Augustine, Florida. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories of Bill's extraordinary life, support one another, and honor his memory.

We take comfort in knowing that Bill's loving spirit lives on through each of us, in every shared memory and in every life he touched. Though our hearts are heavy, we are deeply grateful for the time we were blessed to have with him. His kindness, love, and generous nature will remain with us always, shining brightly through the memories we hold so dear.
