William Arthur Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tabor Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Brighton on Aug. 4, 2023.
Obituary
William "Bill" Arthur, age 72, passed away suddenly of natural causes on July 29,2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ann Arthur, as well as his younger brother John. He is survived by his children Dawn, Brett(Aimee Ginther), and Seth Arthur, his grandchildren Rhiannon Kauffman, Mia Alvalos, Shara (J.B.) Ashmore, Heather Michaud, great granddaughters Olivia Skye Ashmore and Mylah Nicole, youngest brother Scott (Marykay) Arthur, sister in law Kay Arthur, nieces, great-nephews, his dear friend and former wife, Rosemary Eastwood Arthur, and so many friends that he mentored and considered family.
Bill grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA with all the energy and mischief his mother could handle. Graduating from Moon High School class of 1968, he enlisted and served for four years in the US Navy. Married, being a father, and living in Southern California, he worked in the oil fields and refineries, and made a huge impression coaching kids sports. In 1991, Bill led his family on an adventure to Colorado where he bought Brighton Grain Company, in Brighton Colorado, working there until he closed up shop in 2012. He continued to work for Agfinity until he retired in 2021. He grew up attending Sharon Community Church in Moon Township, PA and was an active member of Northern Hills Church in Brighton.
Bill was an expert conversationalist that made friends everywhere he went. He measured the success of a golf game by the number of balls he found instead of the score under par. His best vacations required a hunting or fishing license, not a passport. And his prized possessions all came with a motor.
He would be the first to tell you he had a naturally brilliant mind and that he was a wonderful mechanic. He will also be remembered for his quick wit, dad humor, strong sense of self, and deep love for his family and pets. A celebration of life will be held at Northern Hills Church at 10am on August 25, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Colorado Parks and Wildlife or spend the afternoon fishing in his honor.

I'm so very thankful for the friendship I had with Bill.
He was always kind and helpful. He will forever be woven in the fibers of many of our hearts .
I know he loved the Lord, and is enjoying his eternal life there with our precious Lord and savior. Can you imagine the fish there and beautiful lakes? I'm sure the beauty there is beyond our imagination.
I'm sending much love and prayers to all of his family and friends for peace and strength in this difficult time

Back in our senior year at Moon High School, Bill and I participated in a Youth Sunday service at Sharon Presbyterian Church. I was playing the part of the "minister" and was about thirty seconds into my "sermon" when the doors are the rear of the sanctuary flew open with a bang and Bill walked in wearing the loudest golf pants anyone ever saw. As the congregation turned to see what the noise was, Bill yelled "playing through" and putted a golf ball perfectly straight up the aisle.

And the crowd went wild.

I don't think anybody laughed harder than his Mom.

After church, another friend said, "Nobody else could have pulled off that shot ... except Bill." I replied, "Nobody else would have done that skit dressed like that...except Bill. After all, it was his idea."

He was one of a kind and larger than life. And he was a Good Man!

See you again someday soon, Brother!

You are missed.

Bill was such a character. He always reminded me of Yosemite Sam in the flesh. We met serving together on Northern Hills´ Safety Team and did so for many years. Bill was one of our core team members and was nearly always there to serve. He was always quick with a story or a show and tell for his latest "toy". I will miss Bill´s dedication to our NH family, his wit and our conversations. He loved Jesus and it gives me peace to know he went home doing what he loved so much...riding a Harley.
