William "Bill" Truman Ashby, 87, of Clinton, Utah, passed away on November 10, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1938, in Fillmore, Utah, to Truman Rodney Ashby and Lucille Day.
Bill attended Millard High School and later Utah State University, where he proudly played in the marching band. He served 4 years in the Utah National Guard. Bill was a member of the Future Farmers of America and won the state fair for raising the largest calf. He continued to wear his FFA jacket with honor throughout his life. As a hardworking man, Bill and his father raised cattle, operated a dairy farm, and worked the land together. He later owned and operated a service station, continuing his lifelong commitment to honest work and service.
On July 21, 1961, Bill married the love of his life, Eilene, in the Manti Utah Temple. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Bill and Eilene served as Grand Marshalls of the Clinton Parade, honoring them as longtime residents of over 50 years. Bill was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout his life. Among his most cherished experiences was serving in the Ogden Temple alongside his sweetheart.
Bill enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, riding ATVs, and gardening. As a loving and dedicated father, he encouraged and supported his children in their interests.
He is survived by his children DeAnn (Doug) Gibbons, Scott (Dana) Ashby, Kenneth (Denise) Ashby, and Kevin (Tonya) Ashby with 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am, in Fillmore, Utah.
