William “Gary” Austin, 74, of Utica, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Madisonville. He was born in Calhoun on April 25, 1951, to the late William “Bill” Austin and Christine Durham Austin. Gary worked as a truck driver for First Class Trucking, Baskin-Robbins and Green Coal Company. He also worked at the Beverage Barn here in Owensboro. Gary will be remembered for his great sense of humor and quick wit.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carlie Austin.
Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Cannon Austin; a son, Gary Austin; daughter, Melissa Millay; grandchildren, Kendra and Courtney; and a nephew, Adam (Lauren) Burch.
A time of gathering for family and friends to celebrate Gary’s life will take place on Wednesday from 3 until 7 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
