Sue Toler Obituary

Visit the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory - Owensboro website to view the full obituary.

Sue Stinnett Toler, 91, passed away peacefully February 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and quiet strength. Sue was born on July 12, 1934, in Yelvington, Kentucky, to the late John Allen Stinnett and Evea Elizabeth Sweeney Stinnett. Raised on a farm, she learned early the values of diligence, resilience, and faithfulness.

She was a homemaker at heart, dedicating herself fully to her family and home. Earlier in life, Sue worked at General Electric and later served as a baker for Daviess County Public Schools, where her talent for cooking and baking was well known and appreciated. Whether feeding her family, friends, or a school full of children, Sue put love into everything she prepared.

Farming was woven into the fabric of her life. She grew up a farmer and married a farmer and had a remarkable gift for growing things. If she planted it, it flourished. She also took special pride in keeping her yard immaculate and genuinely loved mowing, a task she approached with the same determination she brought to all she did.

Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, William D. Toler; brothers, John Max Stinnett and Lanny Ray Stinnett, and son-in-law, Basil B. Mullins.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Mullins; granddaughter, Lauren (Ron) Stapleton; brother, Bruce Wayne (Sandy) Stinnett and sister-in-law, Emma Stinnett, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, at Lewisport Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hancock County Animal Shelter.
