It saddens our heart to announce the passing of our big brother, father and husband, William Lamont Ayers. Lamont passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his home. He was born on June 4, 1977, to William Lamont Hazelwood and the late Wanda Lee Ayers. He became the first of fourteen. Lamont met the love of his life Tricia Urban on October 26, 2001. They tied the knot on October 26, 2016. Two sons came from this union, William Lamont Ayers Jr. and Richard Monroe Ayers, as well as a bonus son, Jack Clayton Urban.
Lamont is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Lee Hazelwood; stepfather, Robert Perry Humphrey Sr.; and niece, Keaira Nicole Ayers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tricia Ayers; sons, Junior, Richie and Jack; father William (Charlene) Hazelwood; siblings, Renee (George) Smith, Richard (Reva) Ayers, Jerome, Wanda (Mike) Ayers, James, Kevin, Robert, Curtis (Jenna) Humphrey, Quintin, Jermaine, Shrecikia, Darrell and Martikia; favorite cousins, Jerry Howard and George Ayers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Scott and Jean; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Lamont enjoyed being a stay-at-home dad to his two young sons. He cherished every moment spent with them and his wife. He loved fishing, playing his game system and being surrounded by family. He could make a mean pot of beans and the best grilled hamburger you've ever tasted. Lamont will be remembered by family and friends as an amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a great protector of his family and siblings. His presence will be greatly missed.
Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, 1:30pm-5:00pm at the Filipinas Centre, 3439 Westerville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Repass to follow at Hoover Dam Shelter on Sunbury Road. Day Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of William Lamont Ayers.
