Mr. William “Bill” Hoyle Baker, age 77, entered into rest on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Curtis Laney with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Baker was born December 14, 1945 in Monroe, NC a son of the late Drew and Bessie Robinson Baker. Bill was a Godly man that loved the Lord and his family. Mr. Baker was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking rides around town, and spoiling his cats. Bill was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also was a former member of the Jefferson Town Council.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Baker; father-in-law, Bob Ange Boone; sister-in-law, Bobbi Mungo; and brother-in-law; Thomas C. Mungo.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judy Boone Baker of the home; daughter, Kim Baker ( Wesley) Brock of Jefferson; grandchildren, Brittany and Will of Jefferson, SC; great-grandchildren; Riley and Addyson of Jefferson, SC; mother-in-law, Lois R. Boone of Jefferson, SC; in addition to numerous nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 11078 SC-151 Jefferson, SC 29718
