Alice Baker Obituary
Alice Faye Baker was born in Monroe, Louisiana to Herman Baker and Jimmie Lee Baker. She later relocated to Denison, Texas and graduated from Denison High School.
Alice was a hard worker and was employed for years by Denison Manor and later transitioned to The Terrace. When she wasn't working, you could find Alice doing jigsaw puzzles, football squares, or her favorite…scratching her lottery tickets. She was truly loved by all and never met a stranger; every drive-thru worker knew her order by heart. She was a kind and caring soul who helped anyone in need. Alice's family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
On February 3, 2026 Alice Faye Baker transitioned from this life to an eternal life. She is preceded in death by her parents Herman Perry Baker, Sr. and Jimmie Lee Baker. Brothers; Rudolph Baker and Herman Perry Baker, Jr. sister, Bertha Baker, and granddaughters; Z'Nyjah and D'Nyjah Baker.
She is survived by sons; DeJuan Baker, Tyran Baker, and Tyrell Baker, daughter, Sherrie Wimbish, sisters; Rose Marie Jackson, Barbara Baker, and Shelane Scruggs (Morris), brothers; Felton Baker, John Baker, and Ernest Tankshell,
9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I remember Alice from grade school at Central Ward Elementary in Denison. I'll never forget the first time I met her. It was early one morning just after the first bell rang. I was coming up the stairs from the ground floor and found Alice sitting on the top step sobbing. I sat down beside her and put my arm around her to console her. She explained why she was upset and that she was embarrassed about the situation. I asked her name and I told her mine. We both chuckled at having the same name! I believe we must have been in the 3rd grade. Alice smiled at me and I assured her everything would be alright. We hugged and went to our classrooms (one of the teachers told us to get to class...LOL). We were friends from that moment. Sadly, I lost track of her after grade school. I too graduated Denison High. I've thought of Alice so often through the years and how we met that bright, sunny day. God bless you my friend. And remember, "everything will be alright". I'll never forget you.
