William Baker, beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 24th, 2025 at 80 years old.
Bill was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 13th, 1944 to Helen and Francis Baker. He grew up with 4 siblings, Mary, Emma (Nancy), and his surviving brother and sister, Bob and Franny. He moved to Las Vegas at a young age with the love of his life Mary. Bill became an electrical engineer for the Las Vegas shows working as a spotlight operator. Though his work illuminated those on stage, it was his warmth and devotion to his family that shone the brightest.
He shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with his cherished wife Mary, with whom he built a life rooted in love, respect, and unwavering dedication. Together, they raised six children: Tammy, Lisa, Theresa, Jason, Mickey and Angie. Bill then watched their family grow to include 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren - each of whom felt the special glow of his pride and affection.
A man of many passions, Bill loved woodworking, hiking in nature, kayaking and gazing at the stars. Whether crafting something with his hands or sharing a quiet moment under the night sky, he found beauty in life's simple gifts and taught those around him to do the same.
His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created, the lessons he passed down, and the deep, enduring love he gave so freely.
Bill had a brilliant and curious mind, a love for his family that showed in all his actions, he will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We will see you in the stars.
