He was born March 29, 1941 in Purcellville, VA, the son of the late William Ballinger Sr. and Sue Bell Ballinger. He graduated from Clarke County High School in the class of 1960. Before retirement, he worked for Knouse Foods and Wal-Mart. He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed watching professional matches on television. He was a huge sports fan, cheering for many different games and teams over the years. He married Josephine "Josie" Diaz Ballinger in 1998.
Along with his loving wife, Wild Bill is survived by his children, Bibi Combs (Pete), Mark Ballinger, William "Billy" Ballinger III, Deanna Johnson (Tony), Ian Ballinger, Eric Ballinger; and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Earman; sister, Ramona Herndon; and his beloved dog, Toby.
All services for Wild Bill will be private at this time.
