William L. "Bubba" Barnes

William L. Barnes, known affectionately as Bubba, age 85, of Nashville, TN entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 16, 2025. Born on March 22, 1940, in Nashville, Bubba lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. He was a beloved husband to Martha Old Barnes for 65 years. His genuine personality and sense of humor always brought joy to those around him. Bubba faithfully served as a deacon at both Dalewood and Inglewood Baptist Churches, serving on mission trips, the Room in the Inn ministry and volunteering with a team on many Saturdays doing work projects for the elderly. Bubba worked at Nashville Blueprint & Supply Company as a salesman for over 40 years before he started his own business, Barnes Graphics. Bubba was preceded in death by his mother and father, Angie and Willie Dee Barnes, his brother, Harold and his sister, Betty Marie Barnes McKee. Bubba is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Martha; his children, Rusty (Roxanne), Randy (Lisa), and Christy (Randy) Puckett; and was a cherished grandfather to Melissa Barnes, Laura Jackson (Josh), Hannah Barnes, William Barnes, and David and Jonathan Puckett. He was a proud great-grandfather to Kaiden Gibbs and Joshua and Samuel Jackson. He is further survived by his sister, Virginia Copelin, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. In his free time, he was a master Sudoku player, a lover of well-kept Bermuda grass, and always ready for a bag of potato chips, popcorn or some ice cream. He could usually be found in his favorite chair, watching Western and Cowboy shows or taking a nap. A celebration of Bubba's life will be held on September 25, 2025, at First Baptist Hendersonville chapel, with Pastor Bob Old officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor his life of faith and love. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM with a celebration of life service at 1:00 PM. Above all, Bubba left a legacy of faith, love, and integrity. We are comforted knowing Bubba is now home with the Lord. He will always be remembered for his love, laughter, and all the good memories he shared with us.
