William David Bartholomew, 97, of Santa TX passed away on February 21, 2025. He was born on October 28 1927 to Robert P. and Mildred E. Bartholomew in Fayetteville, AR. William served his country in the Navy and Air Force during World War II.
Gramps graduated from University of Arkansas where he was active in Sigma Chi Fraternity. He remained a loyal Razor back fan, all his life. His greatest passion was Genealogy and tracing family roots back to the early 1800's. After retirement and moving to Texas City from Hot Springs Village he became an avid golfer. He was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Texas City and Hot Springs Village Methodist Church.
William is preceded in death by his parents Robert P. and Mildred E. Bartholomew; wife Martha Margaret Bartholomew, Daughter Beth Ann Nolan, son Samuel Robert Bartholomew; brothers Richard Bartholomew and Robert Bartholomew. He is survived by his son David Michael Bartholomew and his wife Robin; grandchildren Ashley Ray and husband Jason of Santa Fe, TX, Travis Bartholomew and wife Jessica of Friendswood, TX, Lara D'Amico and husband Anthony of Tampa, FL, Jacqueline Nolan and husband Anthony of Round Rock, TX, Marcus Nolan and Wife Bea of Round Rock, TX, Brandon Nolan and wife Mariclea of Round Rock, TX, Jacob Nolan and wife Sabrina of Cork Ireland and his wonderful 21 great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Lonoke Cemetery in Lonoke, AR.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to University of Arkansas, care of: The William D & Martha M Bartholomew Scholarship Fund
