William Becker Obituary

Died: February 13, 2025 in Woodstock, IL
William "Bill" Becker, Sr., age 86, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, with his beloved wife of 65 years, Rosemary, by his side.
Bill was a dedicated dairy farmer in McHenry County for 50 years, working alongside his two sons. After retiring from farming, he spent 17 years working at Grafton Township. He and Rosemary also enjoyed leading the Huntley Harvesters 4-H Club for 25 years. Bill was an active member of the community, serving on the board of the McHenry County Farm Bureau. In retirement, he cherished his winters in Florida, soaking up the sunshine.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Hardt) Becker; his children, Robert (Valerie) Becker and Theresa (Scott) Sounde; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Lolli) Becker; and his seven grandchildren: Kate (Tim) Olson, Alexa Becker, Jack Becker, Anthony Becker, Jake Sounde, Jessica Sounde, and Faith Sounde. He was also blessed with two wonderful great-grandchildren, Reese and Trevor Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Amalia (Rickert) Becker; his brother, Charlie Becker; his sister, Mary Johnson; and his sons, Joseph and William "Bill" Becker, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the PSP & CBD Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
