William "Bill" Beevers
Bill, age 81, died on December 4, 2023, as the result of pulmonary fibrosis.
Bill was born June 25, 1942 in Newark, NJ, the child of William and Dorcas (Ashworth) Beevers. His early education was in New Jersey until 1949, when his parents moved to rural Schoharie County, New York. From third grade on he attended Cobleskill Central School (now Cobleskill-Richmondville), graduating with the class of 1959. Bill attended Union College (NY) and held degrees from Indiana Wesleyan and SUNY-Albany.
Bill served in the US Army from 1961-1964. He spent the majority of his career employed by the General Electric Co, holding a variety of positions in engineering, systems, finance, manufacturing, and sourcing. His work took him to a number of facilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
On January 21, 1967, Bill was married to his wonderful life partner, Joanne Quarneri, in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Herkimer, NY. The marriage of 56 years gave life to two sons.
In addition to Joanne, Bill is survived by these two sons, William "Bill" Beevers, II of Cobleskill, NY and his wife Wendy (Searing) Beevers, and also Michael Beevers of Gardners, PA and his wife Karen Showalter. He also leaves five sublime grandchildren, Christine (Christopher) Manning, Daniel Beevers, Nicholas Beevers, Crosby Beevers, and Cassidy Showalter-Beevers; as well as four great-grandchildren, Landon, Masen, Maverick, and Brealyn Manning. Survivors also include his siblings and their spouses, Jackie Beevers (Gerry Kennedy), Donald (Anne) Beevers, David (Sue) Beevers, and Dale Beevers (Yuon Yuen).
Many thanks to these people and the many friends and family who supported Bill during his lifetime. Particular gratitude should be given to Joanne's extended family, especially her sister, Linda (Rob) Culyer, and to Moon Nimon, an adventurous friend and supporter for the past several years.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, Dec 8 from 2-3PM, with a service following at 3PM, at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, NY.
Please do not send flowers or gifts, but instead bring love, kind words, and hugs for fellow attendees.
