William Clark Bellar, 83, of Orlinda, TN passed away suddenly on March 3, 2026, at his home. Services will be conducted Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6 PM at Cross Plains United Methodist Church with Pastor John Vida officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2 PM- time of service at the church.

William was born December 30, 1942, in Greenbrier, TN to the late Guy Bellar and Ethel Parker Bellar. He was a member of the Greenbrier High School Class of 1963. He served in the US Army from 1964-1966. He retired in 2005, from AVCO Aerostructures in Nashville, TN after 32 years of service. In the 1970's he coached Junior Pro football in Greenbrier. In 2007 he along with other team members of the 1960-'61 football team were inducted into the Greenbrier High School Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2009 he was individually inducted into the Hall of Fame.

William was an active member of the Cross Plains United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee until his death. He was also an active member of the Cross Plains Heritage Commission from 1994 until his death where he served on the Board of Directors and helped with the restoration and maintenance of the Doctor's House Museum & Archives.

Known as a Mr. Fix-It, he helped friends and family with many furniture restorations and other projects. He was an accomplished craftsman who enjoyed building furniture for his family. From 1992-1997 he restored Patterson Place, a historic home in Cross Plains, and assisted others with home restoration projects. He enjoyed playing golf, working in his wood shop, landscaping and yard work, attending grandkids sporting events, helping others and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Claude, Tommy and Charles Bellar and sisters Elizabeth Reid, Annie Crabtree, Myrtle Ayers, Lou Bryant and son-in-law, Scott Breedlove.

William is survived by his wife of 59½ years, Nancy Richards Bellar and children; Richard C Bellar (Cindy), Sharon Harrison (Bryan) and Nancy Janelle Breedlove; grandchildren, Cristin Fletcher, Preston Albright, Josh Bellar, Janie Breedlove, Jacob Bellar, Anthony & Katie Breedlove, Dillon & Hannah Harrison and Luke Bellar and great-grandchildren; Maleigha Fletcher, Mason Bellar, Karma Albright, Laya Albright, Ava Bellar and Houston & Silas Harrison. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Bryant, and Mike Richards and sisters-in-law, Becky Bellar, Nancy Pennington Bellar, Sharen Jones Bellar, and Shea Krisle

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Plains United Methodist Church or the Cross Plains Heritage Commission.

At William's request, William will be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date.
