William Bellucci

William "Bill" Bellucci, Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 15, 2025, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Will was the eldest son of the late Carmen and Irene Bellucci. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1963. Following a calling to serve, he entered the seminary at St. Pius X and St. Charles Borromeo, serving as a priest in the Scranton Diocese.
In 1977, he married Nancy Craparo, his wife of 48 years. They resided in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, for over 40 years before moving to Chester County, PA, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
After his priesthood, Will earned a BA in Psychology from Wilkes University in 1980. He dedicated over 30 years to serving others in the mental health field at Tri-County Human Services. He was beloved by his clients, many of whom he treated like family, and was a steadfast support during difficult times.
A prominent community member, Will was actively involved in local organizations. He volunteered with the Cottage Hose Fire and Ambulance Co. in Carbondale, the Lackawanna County Fire Police, and the Carbondale and Lackawanna County Firemen's Association. He also chaired the Lackawanna Drug and Alcohol Commission and the American Red Cross Lackawanna County and Carbondale/Forest City Chapter.
Will was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. A devoted Philadelphia Flyers fan, he often recounted stories of watching the Broad Street Bullies at the Spectrum during his seminary days. He often ended his day relaxing with a cigar in the garage.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his son, William Jr., and his wife, Susan, of Exton, PA; his daughter, Sara Lemley, and her husband, Dave, of Parkesburg, PA; his brothers, Carmen and Robert (Anne); and his brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas Craparo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The absolute joys of his life were his two grandsons, Luca, 7, and Matteo, 5. His favorite role was "Papa," and he cherished time spent with his family and watching his grandsons grow.
A viewing was held Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, senior priest.
