In Loving Memory
William Frank Bernhard
January 29, 1937 - May 7, 2025
William (Bill) Frank Bernhard was born on January 29, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from St. Gerard's High School in 1955. Bill retired from City Public Service in San Antonio after 35 years.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Lee Klein in 1957. They celebrated 68 years of love and partnership, raising three children together: Sharon, Willie, and Ronnie. As a father, Bill was encouraging, and always present. He took immense pride in his children's achievements and supported them in all their endeavors.
Bill is survived by his wife Virginia; his children Sharon (and her husband Glenn), Willie and Ronnie; his grandchildren, Beau, Billy, Molly, Hannah, Hayleigh; and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Orozco (and her husband Frank) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Matilda Bernhard, brothers and spouses, Eugene and Ann Bernhard, Ted and Betty Bernhard.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, Texas, May 19, 2025, visitation at 1:00 PM, rosary at 1:30 PM and mass at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
Bill's presence in our lives was a gift, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace. Love you DAD
