William Joseph Bieberbach, an extraordinary man, devoted husband and father, passed on December 17, 2025 after a battle with Parkinson’s. He was born on January 15, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Robert Calvin and Florence Ann Bieberbach. He was a memorable figure of the Lake Kerr community for 32 years after relocating to Salt Springs in 1993.
He absolutely loved living in the forest, being outside, fishing, boating, gardening with his wife and helping friends with their outdoor projects.
Willam also known as Bill graduated from Ribault High School in Jacksonville FL in 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the Florida Air National Guard and served as a Reservist for 4 years. After military training he began his journey with Miller Electric and IBEW Local Union #177 where he devoted 42 years before retiring at the age of 62. He was a 32° Freemason of the Valley of Jacksonville, Orient of Florida and a Shriner. He loved his Miller Electric and IBEW family, always aiming to keep them safe, especially as he poured his years of technical experience and procedural knowledge into younger generations. He was known for his rigorous work ethic, unwavering integrity and ambitious spirit.
While a full-time electrician, Bill also worked diligently along side his wife as they made their dream of B & K Farms in Hilliard, FL come true. As proud owners of their hay and poultry farm from 1970-1993, the work was plenty but time with family and friends made the journey enjoyable. After his father’s aneurysm, they relocated to Salt Springs, seeking a deliberate change of pace familiar to previous family vacations. He continuously demonstrated his unswerving commitment to provide a beautiful home and life for his family.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kary and their two children, Brittney Herndon and Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Amanda Person. He was also a passionate grandfather, Peppy, to four grandchildren (Matison Lynn and William Hamilton Herndon, Kinsey and Wesley Person). He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to the Salt Springs Christian Church on Monday, December 29 for a viewing at 1:00, followed by a service at 2:00 to help us commemorate a life well lived. The service will be officiated by Dan Main. Following the service a reception will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall.
