William "Bill" Antz Obituary

William "Bill" Wilber Antz, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed on September 24, 2024 in his hometown of Jeffersonville, Indiana, just days short of his 90th birthday. Born on October 7, 1934, in Jeffersonville, Bill leaves behind a lasting legacy characterized by his dedication to his family and community.

Bill was a proud owner of W.W. Antz Painting, where he took immense pride in the work he provided to those in his community. Known for his craftsmanship and attention to detail, he earned the respect and admiration of many. His professional life was complemented by a rich personal life filled with hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He loved boating and spending time on the Ohio River, where he would often engage in fishing—one of his favorite pastimes. His fondness for westerns and his weekly viewing of Lawrence Welk showcased his love for simpler pleasures. Above all, Bill cherished the moments he spent watching his sons play basketball in their youth, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

In recognition of his character and service to others, he was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel, a testament to his deep-rooted commitments.

Bill is survived by his sons, Dennis L (Lisa) Antz, David (Cathy) Antz, and Ronald (Ronda) Antz. He was a proud grandfather to Lauren (Jim), Lisa (Charlie), Toni, Stephanie, Lori, Daphne (Kevin), and Hannah, and a great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren, as well as a great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Antz, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillie Antz, and his parents, George and Katherine (Colvin) Antz.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for September 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150. Burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Bill's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his contributions to both family and community will be remembered.
