William "Bill" Easter

Join us in a celebration of life for William Easter. It will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell (Corner of 5th and Lincoln) with Pastor Rich Graeff officiating.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Bill passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Ogallala Community Hospital surrounded by his family after fighting a long battle with chronic illness.

Bill was born September 18, 1939 in Parkerville, Kansas to Andy and Tessie (Watson) Easter.

Bill and his wife Nelda moved to Chappell, NE in 2001 to be near their children where he continued his career as an over the road truck driver until his retirement in 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda of Chappell; children, Greg (Brenda) Hagen of Glendo, WY, Candis (Mark) Howitt of Chappell, NE, Tina Easter of Ogallala, NE, Bill (ViAnn) Easter of 29 Palms, CA; Tracy (Darwin) Fornander of Chappell, NE, Michele Huffman Wade of Iliff, CO, and Melonee (Scott) Plantenga of Beatrice, NE; His son Mark Hagen preceded him in death.

He had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family members and friends.
