William “Bill” English, 75 passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late James Joseph and Nellie Dennis English and was married for over 55 years to Cheryl Baker English who survives.
Bill retired in 2005 after 27 years from Indian Valley Golf Course and after over 35 years from the city of Burlington. He was proud to be a half century member of the PGA of America.
Bill is survived by his wife; Cheryl English, son; William Anthony “Tony” English, Jr. (Mary Leslie), daughter; Courtney Leigh English Jovanovic (Dejan), grandchildren; William “Tripp” Anthony English III, Mason Thomas English and Holly Suzanne Skipper. He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Nellie English.
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home by Father Vincent Rubino with the graveside to follow at Guilford Memorial Cemetery by Pastor Jerome Cloninger. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Authoracare Hospice 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or Macedonia Lutheran Church, 421 W Front St, Burlington, NC 27215.
