William “Bill” Jerome Godwin, Jr, of Wilson, was born September 4, 1949. Bill passed away on Saturday, January 20.
Bill was born in Wilson, North Carolina to Beatrice G. and William J Godwin Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Marie Godwin; mother, Beatrice Griffin; father, William Godwin Sr.; stepmother, Thelma Godwin; sister, Judy Parker; brother, Joe Warrick; brother, Danny Warrick; and sister Rachel Warrick.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Hall (Joseph), daughter Christy Godwin (Chris); son, Mark Godwin (Tara); son, Eddie Carmichael; son, William “Billy” J Godwin, III (Kelly); grandchildren, Victoria Edge (Richard), Benjamin Hall (Breanna), Hayden Garner, Mekayla Garner, Joshua Rupprecht (Carol), Trevor Fosler, Rylie Fosler, and Maddie Fraijo; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Scarlett, Aidan, Olivia, and Lily. Bill had many in his extended family and several close friends he loved and adored.
Bill was married to the love of his life, Wanda Marie Godwin. He loved fishing and golf, but what he loved more was his Lord and Savior. It was his desire that anyone God put in his path, he would have the opportunity to bless, pray or lead to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00pm at Farmington Heights Church of God, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Reverend Lavon Phillips will officiate.
Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Farmington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Farmington Heights Church of God at farmingtonheights.com.
