William "Bill" Burton Lozier, affectionately known as "Weazer," passed away peacefully at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, just as he wished, surrounded by his loving children. Born in Seminole on July 29, 1947, Bill lived a full 78 years, leaving an everlasting mark on everyone he met.

Bill was a man who truly embodied the principles of "Be Good to Thy Neighbor" and "Help Thy Fellow Man." He never met a stranger and was known for his incredible generosity, always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a father figure and friend to many.

His life was enriched by his marriage to Debra Bemo. Bill not only married Debbie but also lovingly adopted her daughter, Leslie, treating her with the same deep affection as his three sons, Jeremiah, Matthew, and Johnathan, who followed. Though Bill and Debbie's marriage eventually ended in separation, they remained close friends.

A proud graduate of New Lima High School, Bill also attended Eastern Oklahoma State and East Central University. However, his most profound allegiance was to University of Oklahoma football. There were fans, and then there was Bill Lozier – a walking encyclopedia of OU athletics. He knew every statistic, every player, and every moment, passionately following the team through both their triumphs and their challenges since the late 60s. You were more likely to find Bill listening to an OU football game on an old radio than watching it on a TV.

If you ever had the chance to sit with Bill for any period of time, you would know he lived a rich life full of adventures. If you were writing a novel about him, you could title it "Weazer: A Life Well-Lived". Over the years, these adventures ranged from hitchhiking to far reaches of the US to his time in the United States Army where he was stationed in Mannheim, Germany. There wasn't much that Bill hadn't seen or done.

When the time was right, Bill began his career working alongside his father at Canadian Valley Electric Coop. He then spent most of his professional life in the oil patch, eventually retiring from National Petrochem, where his son Matt took his place. Retirement, however, was not a quiet affair for Bill. He embarked on a new venture, opening "One Eyed Willie's," a unique beer and bait shop. Bill greeted every customer with his characteristic warmth and a genuine smile before eventually retiring for a second time. A businessman he was not, he truly retired that second time.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Maxine Lozier, his brother Randy Lozier, and his son Jeremiah Lozier.

He is survived by his daughter Leslie Lozier of Seminole; his son Matt Lozier and his wife Candy of Tecumseh; and his son Johnathan Lozier of Washington, D.C. He also leaves behind his cherished friend and former wife, Debbie Lozier, and his brother Jim Lozier. Bill adored his grandchildren and dedicated himself to instilling in them the values of hard work, manners, and respect: Seth and his wife Shelbie, and their son Sterling of Shawnee; Jazzi, Brooks, and Lily Kay of Tecumseh; and Kyng of Seminole. Additionally, he is survived by his cousins Tina Butner of Wewoka, Diane Conner of Seminole, and Kelly Huff of Holdenville.

Bill's warm smile, unwavering loyalty, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A man of one-liners, Bill imparts on us all, "Live each day like it's a holiday."

Services will be held on Saturday, July 5th at Swearingen Funeral Home at 11:00am. He will be buried next to his son at his beloved pond. Burial will be private for immediate family and close friends.

Casket Bearers: Seth Lozier, Josh Rollins, Brooks Lozier, Ross Mize, Rodney Starr, and Bobby Douthit. Honorary Casket Bearers: Matt Lozier, Johnathan Lozier, Clyde James, Herman Hill, Tim Moon, Tom Moon, Gary Cordell, Jim Lozier, Bobby Hammond, and James Blanton.
