William “Bill” McCarty of Mineral Point, Missouri was born April 15, 1938 in Van Buren, Missouri, a son to the late Noah Franklin McCarty and Rhoda Samantha (Evans) McCarty. Bill departed this life having reached the age of 84 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, JoAnne Hedrick of Potosi, Missouri; sons, Jeffery McCarty and wife Peggy of St. Genevieve, Missouri, Terry McCarty and wife Andrea of Bonne Terre, Missouri; Tom McCarty and wife Tina of Carlyle, Illinois; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his infant brothers, Lewis McCarty, Noah McCarty, Jr.; sisters, Pearl Amsden, Dorothy Parks, Hazel LaZaro, Shelby Mason, Cora Norris, Fern Duesenburg, Gladys Womack and grandson, Blake Andrew McCarty.
Bill loved going to antique shops and yards sales. He collected many items particularly toy trucks and cars. In addition to toy cars he had a passion for classic cars as well. He could fix any vehicle no matter its condition. He loved his family and was their rock during difficult times. He had a can do attitude and always saw the best in people. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
