William "Billy" Green Obituary

William "Billy" Green, age 65, of Piedmont, loving husband of Debra Haynes Green, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2024.

He was born on June 16, 1959 to the late Clarence and Loree Green in Arlington, Va.. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he held on to his strong faith and love for the Lord. He enjoyed collecting knives, watching the Clemson Tigers, and was an avid lover of fishing and hunting. Billy was a jokester who never met a stranger, and was always someone you could depend on. You would never find him without his favorite orange, Trident gum in his pocket (church chew). Billy was a highly skilled tile setter whose work was true perfection. You could find him always doing side jobs. He recently retired and took a very memorable trip with his wife to Florida, where they were able to swim with dolphins.

Along with his wife of almost seven years, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa Childress (Jimmy), Tracy McGary (Jonathan), and Denise Perrella (Adam); grandchildren, Kyle Mote (Karla), Shane Mote (Rebekah), Kirsten Smith (Dylan), Landon McGary, Ella McGary, Lucas McGary, Mason and Ethan Perrella, Joshua, Lauren and Bradley Childress; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Colton, Carter, Wes and Jackson; sisters, Cathy Ruppe (Scott), Barbara Everette (Eddie), and Alice Griffith; brother, Dewayne Green (Nichole), and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Hooper Green, brother Charlie Green and sister-in-law, Lori Green.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Rock Springs Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.

Let all those who knew him and loved him cherish the memories they shared with him. He may have left this world, but his spirit and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
