William "Bing" Edward Bingham, age 84 of Columbus Ga, passed away peacefully from Alzheimers at the Columbus Hospice House at 4:49pm on August 21, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on March 15, 1941 in Griffin, GA, Bing lived a life marked by core values of kindness, hard work, generosity, and humor. He spent his career as a Lithographer and was admired for his dedication, skill, and work ethic. Beyond his work, he cherished time with family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to know him.
Bing was a devoted husband to Mattie Louise (Pat) Bingham, a proud father to Matthew Scott Bingham and Patrick Sean Bingham and a loving father-in-law to Christy Bingham and Joani Blair Bingham. He especially treasured his role as a grandfather to Alexandra (Lex) Bingham, Geoffrey Alexander Bingham, Savanna Louise Bingham Strickland, Devin Bingham, and Zachary Edward Bingham bringing joy, laughter, and wisdom into their lives.
Those who knew Bing will remember him for his warm smile, his storytelling, his sense of humor, his love of the Civil War re-enactments he participated in and his unwavering support of America. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in all who loved him.
He is survived by his brother Ronnie Bingham and his 2 sons Scott and Sean Bingham, grandchildren Alexandra (Lex) Bingham, Geoffrey Alexander Bingham (fiancé Chelsey Grimmett), Savanna Louise Bingham Strickland (husband Carter Strickland), Zachary Edward Bingham (fiancé Jillian Parks), great grandchildren Sophia Taylor Bingham, Charlotte Elizabeth and Marley Adaline Bingham. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Evelyn Bingham and his wife Mattie Louise (Pat) Bingham.
A service to celebrate Bing's life will be held in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers brother Ronnie Bingham, daughter in law Christy Bingham, and grandsons Alex and Zack Bingham. They would also like to thank all of those from Columbus Hospice who played a part in his care for their kindness and support.Bing will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
