Bill was the son of the late Charles Ira and Mary Lee Toney Blake of Mossy, WV.
Bill was a graduate of Collins High School Class of 1971. He has a biology degree from WV Institute of Technology as well as a business degree from the University of Charleston. Bill retired from the WV Parkways Authority where he served in several capacities for 34 years. During his time at the WV Parkways Authority, he took 4 years to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1973-1977 as an E5.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lee Blake.
Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debra Humphrey Blake; daughters, LeAnn Blake (Chris Bell) and Stephanie Hamilton Simmons (Terry); granddaughters, Jacquelyn Simmons Almarode (Heath) and Kaitlyn Simmons; grandsons, Samuel and Matthew Simmons; sisters, Regina Settle and Lisa Blake Russel; aunts, Verna Clark and Shirley Gamble; 4 nieces; and 1 nephew.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at High Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Truman officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at High Lawn Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bell, Terry Simmons, Heath Almarode, Chuck Blake, Walter Boardwine, and Sam Morton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam Toney, Samuel Simmons, and Matthew Simmons.

I am saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a good guy, and I always enjoyed spending time with him. I haven't seen Bill since I moved from WV about 4 years ago, but I think of him often. Rest in peace my good friend.
