"Together Again"
Blazier, William Frederick, 86, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born on December 14, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late William V. and Evelyn Beever Blazier.
William was a retired Pipe Fitter at the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Steubenville Plant, and worked with Our Lady of Lebanon Church as a member of Cedars of Lebanon.
He was a past President of the local Antique Automobile Club of America chapter, local AARP chapter, and the local SOAR chapter. He also was a member of the Central Band Boosters for years.
He loved cars of any kind including antique cars, and trains. He could fix anything and always came up with creative ways to fix the problem. He believed in hard work and always said, "If someone was willing to teach you something then take the time to learn". He also loved his dogs and had a passion for rescuing elderly Dachshunds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louanne Benline Blazier in 2023; daughter, Barbara A. Blazier; and son, David C. Blazier.
William is survived by his three children, Diane L. (Daniel) Baker, Chief James A. (Lisa) Blazier, Linda S. (Jeremy) Nelms; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Steve) Thomas, Jessica (Adam) Jenkins, Matthew Nelms, Joshua Nelms, Alexa Blazier, Alivia (Justin) Leonard, Brent (Monica Black) Blazier; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many cousins including, Peggy (Alex) Salvatori and Gerry Armstrong.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) where services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 AM with Monsignor Bakhos Chidiac officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
A special thanks to the staff at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their gracious care of Bill.
