William Woodhouse "Bill" Boehme, 72, passed away at his home in Milton, DE after a short illness on Wednesday, May 21.
Born on October 31, 1952 in Mt. Kisco, NY. He received an Associate of Science degree from Morrisville Community College of the State University of New York. Moving to Salem, NH, he was a product testing engineer for 28 years with Siemens Corporation and its subsidiary Draeger Medical Instruments where he was highly regarded by his colleagues for his dedication and skills in completing projects on time and under budget.
He was a highly talented musician who was proficient on both acoustic and electric guitar, playing in bands since his high school years. In 2016, he relocated to Milton, DE and played lead guitar with local pop band The Problematics and bluegrass band The Delmarva Ramblers.
He valued volunteerism, serving for decades at both the Gray Fox Bluegrass Festival and Rhythm 'n Roots, a celebration of Americana music. He was a member of the volunteer staff at The Anchor Coffee House at Groome Church for five years.
Bill enjoyed a variety of outside interests including swimming at Cape Henlopen State Park, fishing, body surfing, camping and card playing. He occupied much of his free time repairing and renovating guitar amplifiers, sound systems and designing his own guitar effects pedals. He is remembered for his famous quote, "Every problem has a jury-rigged solution."
He was predeceased by his parents Albert Arno and Edna May (Woodhouse) Boehme. He is survived by his siblings Diane (Donald) Albert, and Anita Boehme, both of Tucson, AZ and Lorraine Boehme (Michael) Messitt of Lewes, DE. In addition, he is survived by nieces/nephews Laura (Larry) Atkinson and Sara Boehme of Tucson, AZ, and nephews David (Teresa) Albert of Baltimore, MD and Christopher Boehme of Boston, MA.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where family and friends can visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial services will be private.
