Mr. William Steve Boswell, 80, of Bobby Brown State Park Road, Elberton, husband of Annette Delores Worley Boswell, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his residence following a two-month battle with cancer.

Born in Greenwood, SC on October 22, 1943, William was the sixth of ten children of the late Dallas Hoyt Boswell and Montine Elizabeth Smith Boswell. He worked in the construction industry all of his life, and was an avid outdoorsman. He looked forward to fishing trips to Santee and hosting bass tournaments on Lake Russell. William enjoyed hunting and never miss an opportunity to cut grass. His kind nature was extended to everyone he knew, and he was always looking for a way to help others. He collected can pop-tops for many years to donate to the Elbert County 4-H Club to help families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Affectionately known as “Papa” to many, he leaves behind his wife Annette; his children: Angie Boswell Camp and her husband Dale of Gainesville and Bill Boswell and his wife Melissa of Elberton; siblings: Peggy Phillips and her husband Buddy of Greenwood, SC, Sydney Jean Scarborough and her husband George Earl of Elberton, and Shirley Hendricks and her husband John Marshall of Watkinsville; grandchildren: Clint Camp, Holly Camp, Parker Camp and Kayla, Devan Seawright and Matt, Bryce Boswell and LeAnn, Rylee Camp, Baylee Camp and April, and Ashlyn Boswell; great-grandchildren: Asher Camp, Raylin Camp, and one on the way.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: George Calvin Boswell, Darlene Bray, Eva Saxon, Gladell Gabriel, Wilda Boswell, and Edith Boswell.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, from 12:00-1:30p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating William’s life will follow at 2:00p.m. in the Berry Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Mr. Shane Cox. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park at a later date.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to T.J. & Friends Foundation, PO Box 6161, Elberton, GA 30635 or to Ronald McDonald House, 795 Gatewood Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
