October 31, 1967 – June 17, 2025 – William Alfred Boswell aka (Billy/Boz)
With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of William Alfred Boswell, who departed this life on June 17, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
William was born on October 31, 1967, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at Mary Washington Hospital, to the late Julia Lorraine Carr and Morris James Boswell, Jr. His early years were filled with curiosity and promise, beginning his education at Spotswood Elementary School before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland, where he continued at Lafayette Elementary School.
A gifted student, William, earned an academic scholarship to the Gilman School for Boys, where he graduated with distinction in 1985. He briefly attended Hampton University before answering the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he would build a long and distinguished career marked by excellence, integrity, and service for 23 years.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, William continued his dedication to public service and national security, first with ITT Exelis, then with ManTech International for 13 years, before ultimately joining the Department of the Navy in October 2024, where he worked until his passing.
William was deeply committed to lifelong learning. He earned an Associate of Arts in Information Systems Management from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trident University International, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland University College.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, William was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving brother, and a steadfast friend. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Caroline Boswell, and his beloved children: daughters Taia R. Boswell, Jonelle I. Boswell, and Selena S. Boswell. One grandson, Kaiden H. Beatty, stepdaughters, Tiffany D. Nelson and Jasmine A. Miller; and adopted children Joshua O. Hill, Leah S. Hill, and Elijah Z. Reddick.
He is also survived by his siblings Jacqueline A. Carr-Ernest (Thomas), Rhonda L. Kershaw (Tony), and Morris J. Boswell III; his nieces Denice Bullock-Boswell and Victoria Boswell-Blandon (Cory), his nephew Jarred M. Tabb, one grandniece Demirah Tabb and a host of other relatives and friends.
William was preceded in death by his father, Morris J. Boswell Jr., his mother, Julia L. Carr, and two brothers, John B. Boswell (Marielle) and Vincent E. Boswell.
William will be remembered for his deep wisdom, warm humor, tireless service, and unwavering love for his family. He was a man of honor, intellect, and quiet strength, whose legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
A life well-lived. A rest well-earned. He will be forever missed.

Deeply saddened to learn of his passing. We served together at Yokota AB, Japan - my stellar NCOIC within the Communications Focal Point in 2003 -2004. A quiet, yet assertive leader who was results-oriented. More importantly, his caring and empathic heart was known and felt throughout our crew. My heartfelt condolences and prayers of comfort, strength and understanding go out to his family, extended families, and friends.
