William "Bill" Britsch, 84, Georgetown, KY, passed away on November 9th. Bill had an outstanding sense of humor. His creativity kept him busy in his workshop while his passion for food led him to cooking, experimenting with new recipes. He also enjoyed playing golf. Most of all he loved his family and friends.
Bill was born in Mascoutah, Illinois on January 14th, 1940. He was married for 33 1/2 years to Gussie (Hattrick) Britsch and was the loving father to four children, Julie Ganucheau (Mark), Vicki Walker (Scott), Mike Britsch (Paula), and Susan Britsch (Jennifer VanSickle), and three stepchildren, Jimmy Dean Walters (Linda Matthews), Lisa Anderson (Fred), and Leslie Kenner (Dennis). He was also a proud grandfather with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Bill received an electrical engineering degree from the University of Kentucky, retired from IBM after 30 years of service and from Shiroki North America (Toyota) where he also worked for 30 years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Simon Britsch and his sister Phyllis Tecklenburg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown, KY on Saturday November 16, 2-5pm with remembrances at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to UK Markey Cancer Center Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Bill was a spiritual man. I met him when he was facing some important life changes. I watched him on his journey to heal himself and become closer to people. His ability to laugh at himself and with others was a key ingredient in his willingness to change his life's path. He always had a smile and a good word for the people he met. He told many of us that his marriage to Gussie brought real balance and joy to his life. We have been gone from Kentucky for many years, but my memories of Bill are fond ones. He made a difference. I know he would wish us what we all seek -- peace and serenity in our own lives.
We wish the very best to Gussie and Bill's many family members and friends.
