William "Craig" Brown was born May 8th 1948 in Salinesville, Ohio to Jim and Eileen "Babe" Brown as the youngest of 3 brothers. Craig spent his time growing up between Ohio and California where he loved to body surf and work on his Ford Woody. Craig proudly served In the US Army having roles in the 9th Infantry and USACE 299th Engineer Battalion, spending two active duty tours in the Vietnam War. On June 10th, 1973, Craig married Mona Brown, his wife of 52 years. Craig went on to work 32 years for General Motors in Van Nuys, California, Oklahoma City and Shreveport, Louisiana as he and Mona raised their son Corey and daughter Amy. In his retirement years in Woodlawn, outside of Marshall and Jefferson, Tx, Craig loved working his land, having bonfires with his family, camping and being outdoors as well as being an avid gold prospector and quartz crystal miner. Craig is preceded in death by his parents, James and Eileen Brown. "Pa" is survived by his wife Mona Brown, son and daughter in law Corey and Rachel Brown, daughter and son in law Amy and Davie Cuellar, 6 grandkids Jayden, Jordan, Gage, Hunter, Kinley and Axton, brothers Dale and Lee Brown, nieces Kristen Brown and Amanda Ramirez, and many more family and friends that are as close as family. Craig was a loving son, brother, soldier, husband, dad and grandpa who touched the lives of everyone he met. Craig left our physical world on January 6th, 2026 but his memory will live on through those who loved him.
