William Keith Browning
September 27, 1928 ~ October 1, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa, William Keith Browning, on Saturday October 1, 2022. Grandpa was born September 27, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the oldest son of Belva (Browning) Day. Grandpa was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, fighting on the front lines of the Korean War.
He married the love of his life, Mary Patricia Hansen, on his 24th birthday, September 27, 1952, in Roy, Utah. Together they had four wonderful children, they enjoyed square dancing, and traveling the world.
Grandpa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He built a lifelong career as a Conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad where he made many friends before retiring in 1991.
We will forever miss your raspy laugh that followed many of your stories, watching Bugs Bunny and Road Runner cartoons or teasing anyone of us. Most of all we will miss you and we love you.
Grandpa is survived by his son, Craig (Elaine) Browning of Washington Terrace; daughters, Julie (Dennis) Hamblin of Roy; and Joan (Bryan) Thull of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Nick (Aletha) Day of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and sister, Lorraine (Donald) McCully of Shelton, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his mom; his daughter, Kathy, son-in-law, Jeremy; and twin grandsons, Norman and William.
A graveside service will be on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
The family would like to thank the staff and residence of Treeo Senior Living for their care and friendship over the past few years.
