William (Bill) Bruder, aged 76 of Cambridge, OH. passed away on April 8th, 2025.
Bill was born in Canton, OH. January 19th, 1949 to parents George and Mary Alice Bruder.
Bill is survived by wife Cheryl, sister Barbara, and sons Jason, Michael and James.
Bill was an Army Veteran, and avid outdoorsman. Bill’s later years were filled with frequent fishing trips, and artifact hunts with his loving wife Cheryl, and close friends and family.
As one of Bill’s sons, I am struggling to summarize his life in a few paragraphs.
Dad was charming and supremely intelligent. His stories of his adventures drew in everyone close enough to hear them. His dry humor was epic. His blunt demeanor, along with the trademark “stink eye” always let us know where he stood on any topic discussed.
We will miss him.
For those of us that knew him closely – he made us who we are.
He taught us many lessons. Some were easy – love for nature, our environment, and appreciation for the diversity of our fellow humans. Other lessons were more difficult. My brothers and I have embraced the good, learned from the bad, and are better men for it all.
My dad will live on through all the things we learned, as we continue to pass those lessons along to our children, grandchildren, and friends.
Fair winds and peace, “Barnacle” Bill Bruder.
