William Bucher Obituary
William was born Sunday, July 10, 1938, in Roselle, NJ, a son of the late Bruce Shunk Bucher and Muriel Mowen Bucher. On September 19, 1959, in Florida he married the former Elsie Catherine Keefer who survives. They had celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.
Also left to cherish his memory is one son, Adam Bucher and wife Dawn of Elkins, grandchildren, Kenneth Bucher and wife Stephanie of OH, Anthony Christaldi and wife Kari of VA, Denise Totten and husband Justin of VA, Jennifer Richardson and husband Johnny of GA, Matthew Smythe of KY, eleven great-grandchildren, and sister, Joan Gowell of NC.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one daughter, Penny Smythe, and one grandson, Michael Smythe.
William graduated high school, obtained his associates degree and proudly served in the United States Army Reserve. He had been employed as a police officer in Volusia County Florida and retired after thirty years of service. As a second career, William worked for Walmart in Florida and then Elkins.
William's request for cremation was honored.
