William Buracker, Jr. 73 years old

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Buracker, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, educator, and coach. Bill passed away peacefully on August 20th surrounded by family at home in Bridgewater, Va. He was born on January 7, 1952 in Page County and was the son of the late William R. Buracker, Sr. and Frances Alger Buracker.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Buracker, and their three children: Jennifer Sheets (David) of Vienna, Va., Kara Marsh of Fairfax, Va., and Brad Buracker (Caitlin) of Charlottesville, Va. Bill was a proud grandfather of seven grandchildren that gave immense joy to his life: Caleb, Rye, Hudson, Rowan, Maddux, Jovie, and Aidan (who preceded him in death). Also survived by a sister, Janie Sinclair (George), and an aunt, Betty Housden.

Bill was a member of Crosslink Community Church in Harrisonburg, Va. where he found support and spiritual strength. His passion for coaching and sports touched countless lives during his teaching career at Luray High School, J. Frank Hillyard Middle School, and Wilbur Pence Middle School. He coached both baseball and football at Luray High, Broadway, Turner Ashby and baseball at EMU. His dedication to mentoring young people left a lasting legacy in the schools and communities he served.

A memorial service will be held at Crosslink Community Church on Saturday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m. Following the service: light refreshments and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crosslink Community Church (crosslinkva.com) or The Parkinson Foundation (Parkinson.org).
