William "Bill" George Burns, passed away with his family around him after a short illness. He was born on June 27, 1942 to the late William and Maxine Burns. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Alliance High School and was a very proud Aviator. After graduation he worked at Alliance Clay Products and General Motors from which he retired from.
He married the love of his wife Janet (Amelung) in 1962. They spent everyday together for the last 64 years. They had 4 children together; Eleanor Monk, Julie Burns, W. Rhett (Beth) Burns, J. Ryker (Dawn) Burns and Dakota (Haylee) Wagner. He had 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson that all loved him very much. He is also survived by a brother Steve (Nancy) Burns and 3 step siblings, Bonnie Patrick, Jodene Walters and Jeff Cozmo, Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two siblings Claudia Muniz and Christine McCammon.
He loved golf. You could find him multiple times a week at Sleepy Hollow (where he accomplished a hole-in-one three times). Even in the winter you could find him there. He took great pride in his yard. Bill was out there daily doing something to it. He even won an award for the greenest yard. Bill also loved to volunteer his time for Sebring Athletics. He became friends with many of the players; you would often see them helping in his yard or him helping them. He loved getting in his car with one of his dogs to drive around town in hopes to find someone to help or just to even talk to. Over his many years he has made many lifelong friends. He will be definitely missed by all his family and friends.
