William James Burt, known as Wild Bill, 78, of Mount Juliet, passed away October 10, 2025.
Bill Burt was an amazing friend and person.
He was so proud of his daughter Brittney and cherished their time together. She spent the last weeks Bill had on earth caring for him with love and selflessness. He loved her, Mike and his grandchildren deeply and was so thankful for the time that they shared together.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he trained in motion picture combat photography. Afterwards, he spent many years working in the film industry as a dolly and key grip, and is considered a mentor and legend by those who had the pleasure of working with him. He shared his skills and knowledge with everyone he worked with and always offered words of encouragement to those he knew.
In his later years, he enjoyed spending his time at home with the dogs watching fishing shows, bird watching, and hanging out with his best friends and roommates, Abby and Sean.
Bill proudly acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was escorted into His loving arms surrounded by his family and friends. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Burt.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Brittney (Mike) Crory; Grandchildren, Mikey Crory, Valerie Crory; Lifetime friends, Abby (Sean) Harkins, Gordon (Gingie) Pihl, Wendy (Rob) Morris and Corinna (Quentin) Yerbich; And Siblings, Barbara (Robert) Mendoza and Bob (Shelia) Burt.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, per Bill's request, donations be made in his memory to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Institute in Nashville TN.
