William J. Callahan Jr., 77 of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA.
William was born in Kingston, to the late William and Marian (Thomas) Callahan. He graduated from Nanticoke High School, Class of 1966 and went on to serve our country in the Marine Reserves. He held several jobs in his life including High Art Lamp, United Pants, and Anthracite Apartments, Pittston, where he was loved by all the residents and treated them like family.
William loved to golf and was a member of the Lehman golf course. His other favorite pastimes included attending his grandchildren's basketball games, golf vacations, visiting local restaurants and watching the Yankees.
In addition to his parents William is preceded in death by his son, Scott Callahan, and daughter, Shannon Karaffa.
William is survived by his beloved wife Karen Taddei-Callahan, children William (Laura) Callahan III of Hanover Township; Jacqueline Callahan of Plains; daughter-in-law Jackie Callahan of Mehoopany; sister Patricia (Thomas) Tasco of Lehman Twp.; grandchildren Seth Callahan, Jeremy Callahan, Forrest Callahan, Caitlyn (Gary) Raczkowski, Carly Karaffa, Jovanni Karaffa, great grandson Grayson Raczkowski; nephew Tommy (Molly) and great nephew Collin.
The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care provided by Dr. Patrick Kerrigan, Dr. Bruce Saidman and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
