William "Bill" Cameron passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Springfield, MO, at the age of 82. Born on June 2, 1942, in Three Rivers, Quebec, Bill's life was marked by his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and unwavering optimism.
Bill's journey led him from his Canadian roots to a fulfilling life in the United States. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Engineering, he left Canada at the age of 24 to embark on a career that would span several states and numerous industries. His professional path began at Dresser Clark Bros in Olean, NY, followed by positions at RT French Co in Rochester, NY, Johnson & Johnson in Chicago, IL, and culminating in a 26 year career and rewarding retirement from Litton Industries in Springfield, MO, in 2004.
Throughout his life, Bill was a man of many passions. He had an enduring love for classic cars, frequently attending car shows with a particular fondness for Cadillacs and Corvettes. His enthusiasm for automobiles was matched only by his love for golf. He played on numerous courses and also attended the PGA Masters as a spectator three times. Bill's musical tastes were a reflection of his era, with a special place in his heart for classic rock and the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley.
Bill is survived by his son, Greg Cameron (Shauna); daughters, Tina Cameron Bewley (Terry) and Tracey Cameron Wilkinson (Tim); granddaughters, Jessica Cameron Bowden (Ben), Dani Hancock and Mary Emma Huggins (Jacob); grandsons, Josh Bewley (Nicole) and Tyler Bewley; and great grandsons, Kason Bewley and Lex Huggins.
Bill was a friend to everyone he met. To know him was to love him. Those who knew Bill will remember him as the embodiment of a life well-lived. His presence could light up a room, and his friendly conversations and sense of humor were a source of comfort and joy to many. He approached life's challenges with optimism and always found a way to see the good in every situation. His loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In honoring Bill's memory, we carry forward the lessons of love, friendship, and optimism he imparted to us. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, just as his presence enriched our lives. We will miss Bill and look forward to a great reunion in Heaven.
