William Floyd Carley

WILLIAM FLOYD CARLEY died at the age of 88 on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his home in Charleston, WV, after a mercifully short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bill was born in Syracuse, NY in 1936 to Frances Evelyn (Candee) Carley and Andrew Floyd Carley. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where he graduated with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked at the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation in California for a few years before taking a job as a computer programmer with Data Systems Analysts (DSA) back on the east coast. After traveling abroad with DSA for over 10 years, he settled in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he lived for 43 years until he moved to Charleston almost 5 years ago.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Joyce (Hamilton), daughter Karen Louise, sister, Susan (Carley) Hite, and brother-in-law, Gordon Hite, and he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ann (Carley) Brandt, son-in-law Jeffrey Kent Brandt and grandchildren Nathan Andrew, Karen Grace, Moxxie William, Abigail Lea, and Emma Louise.
Bill will return to Cherry Hill to be laid to rest alongside his wife and daughter. A memorial service will be held there at that time, which is yet to be determined.
