William Jesse "Bill" Carter

This is to announce the death of Bill Carter, 93, who died January 18, 2022. Bill was a TV/Radio broadcaster for 60 years. He also retired from the military after 33 years of active and reserve duty. He was a member of the Board of Governors for FOX Television Network. He was President of Sage Broadcasting which owned several TV and radio stations in the Southwest including KIDY-TV San Angelo, KXVA-TV Abilene, KIDZ Abilene, KABB San Antonio, and KPOM Ft. Smith/Fayetteville AR. Bill was voted Texas Pioneer Broadcaster of the Year in 2010.
Bill and Ann-Marie were active Episcopalians at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in San Angelo.
Bill is survived by his wife Ann-Marie, daughter Connie Griffith, and stepson David Alvarez-Altemir. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren from Austin, Junction, Mountain Home, AR, and Pickens, SC.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM
