JACKSONVILLE- William Arthur Chadwick, Sr., 89, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, December 29th, 2023, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
William served in the United States Army as part of the 101st Airborne Division. He also worked at Jones-Onslow Electric Membership Corporation for 40 years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Interment will follow the service at Onslow Memorial Park.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Wood and William Clifton Chadwick.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Mary Smith Chadwick; son, William Chadwick, Jr. of Jacksonville; daughter, Patricia (Mike) Lavery of GA; brother, James (Jean) Chadwick of Jacksonville; sister, Mona Lightfoot of GA; brother in-laws, John Smith of New Bern, A.T. (Natela) Smith of Concord; sister in-law, Dee Congleton of New Bern; nieces, Genny (Jimmy) Wrenn of Chapel Hill, Lisa (Tim) Floyd of Raleigh, Shannon (Steve) Taylor of Concord, and Theresa (Dwayne) Linsey of NC; and his nephews, James (Michelle) Chadwick, Jr. of Jacksonville, Robert (Cheri) Chadwick of Sneads Ferry, Johnny (Elenita) Lightfoot of VA, and George (Gloria) Lightfoot of GA, and Ronnie (Maria) Lightfoot of VA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William's memory to Onslow County Animal Services.
